📡 DRF Triangulation System - Operational Manual

Welcome to the Direction Finding (DRF) Collaboration Suite. This platform synchronizes field operations, web-based mapping, and automated telemetry streams into a single real-time triangulation utility for tracking RF targets.

1. User Provisioning & Account Creation

The platform supports a secure, zero-conf workflow for onboarding operators in the field or pre-provisioning accounts from headquarters.

Method A: Self-Registration via Telegram Gatekeeper

Method B: Administrative Creation & Profile Linking

2. Managing Your Operator Profile

Web Dashboard Once provisioned, log into the central control dashboard at drf.itsonlyelectronics.co.za to configure your profile settings located in the user grid:

3. Mobile Logging via Telegram (Field Operations)

Telegram Bot Field operators can log target directions seamlessly without keeping a web browser active, conserving field battery life.

The Signal Submission Pipeline:

  1. Submit Origin Location: Tap the attachment icon (paperclip), select Location, and drop a static pin. CRITICAL: Do not use "Live Location Sharing". The bot requires a distinct static coordinate pin to lock the observation origin point.
  2. Target Project Selection: The bot will immediately reply with a dynamic inline button menu containing all active tracking assignments. Tap the target project you are currently searching.
    • If the project does not exist yet, tap ➕ Add New. The bot will prompt you for a **Project Name** followed by an **RF Frequency** (e.g., 145.500) to instantly establish a new vector coordinate space for all field units.
  3. Heading Entry (Optional): The bot prompts you for a compass bearing. Type an integer between 0 and 360 degrees and send. If you lack direction tools, type skip.
  4. Signal Strength Entry (Optional): The bot prompts you for signal data. Type an integer corresponding to your received strength meter (e.g., -85) and send. If you do not have signal strength metrics, type skip.
Variable Flexibility: Headings and Signal Strengths are completely optional. You can supply both, a Heading only (draws a line vector), a Signal Strength only (draws a relative proximity radius block), or skip both to simply log an operational unit footprint on the tracking map.

4. Advanced Dashboard Capabilities & Automation

Web Dashboard The browser interface handles real-time cross-bearing visualization and geometric targeting analysis.

Manual Data Capture

Automated APRS Radio Direction Finding (Auto-Poll Engine)

The platform contains a localized automatic tracking subsystem capable of pulling location beacons directly from raw APRS assets, entirely bypassing the need for manual inputs while driving:
